From Zanzibar: 1-Day Selous Safari with Scenic Flight & Bush Lunch

Your adventure starts with an early hotel pickup (if you’ve chosen the option with hotel transfer; exact time will be confirmed the day before). At 6:00 AM, board a twin-engine plane for a safe and comfortable flight, enjoying stunning scenic views over the ocean and the vast plains of Selous National Park — one of Africa’s largest and most diverse protected areas.

Upon your arrival at Mtemere Airstrip around 7:00 AM, you’ll be greeted by your professional local safari guide. Together with a small group of no more than six guests, you’ll climb aboard a custom 4×4 safari jeep, specially designed with guaranteed panoramic views for the ultimate safari experience.

Your morning game drive takes you through varied terrain, where you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, buffalos, and possibly even rare African wild dogs. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating facts, stories, and insider insights about the park and its wildlife — so much that you might leave feeling like a true safari expert yourself.

Around 12:30–1:00 PM, stop for a well-earned bush lunch served at a peaceful spot surrounded by the park’s natural beauty, giving you a true sense of being immersed in nature. After lunch, set off on a second game drive to spot more wildlife before heading back to the airstrip around 4:00 PM for your return flight to Zanzibar.

Upon arrival, if you’ve chosen the option with hotel transfer, a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to your hotel (around 6:00 PM) — ending a full and unforgettable day in the wild.

Drinks and light refreshments are available in the vehicle, and raincoats are provided in case of showers.
